Remembering two UUSS members–obituaries from the Sacramento Bee

Michael Lauglin‘s memorial service was Friday.  He died after a fall from his ladder at his home.  He was 72 and had been disabled since 1978 from a frontal lobe injury sustained in the line of duty as a firefighter.  He made coffee nearly every Sunday (for coffee hour after BOTH services)!  On Friday, as folks arrived at church for the service, four firefighters from Company 8 stood by their fire engine in our parking lot.  I spoke to them and thanked them for coming.  They were too young to have known Michael but they said they wanted to show their respects for a former comrade.

Georgianna Else died at age 94 of Alzheimer’s disease; she had moved to Palo Alto to be near children.  While in Sacramento she was an active and important artist, and a member of our UU congregation.  Many of our members remember her.
